The High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) serves as the primary @United Nations platform for advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It plays a crucial role in monitoring and reviewing progress toward the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its SDGs. In 2024, the HLPF will be held in New York from July 8 to July 17, joining by all UN Member States and civil society organizations, marking its first session under auspices of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) following the SDG Summit in 2023.
HLPF 2024’S FOCUS
The HLPF 2024 will focus on the theme: “Reinforcing the 2030 Agenda and eradicating poverty in times of multiple crises: the effective delivery of sustainable, resilient, and innovative solutions.” This year's forum will review in-depth Goal 1, which aims to end poverty in all its forms everywhere; Goal 2, which focuses on ending hunger, achieving food security and improved nutrition, and promoting sustainable agriculture; Goal 13, which seeks to take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts; Goal 16, which aims to promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels; and Goal 17, which seeks to strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.
